New 49er's Dredging: The gold rush is back in the form of recreational mining on the Wild & Scenic Salmon River. KFA is concerned about the increase in foot and vehicle traffic, potential for gasoline spills, harassment of wildlife species such as the osprey, eagle and falcon, and disturbance in prime steelhead and salmon spawning beds. KFA is asking the Forest Service to review the impacts of in stream mining, and the 49er's Operations Plan. MENU |
