KFA EVENTS

Our activist and board meetings are held downriver. Stop by our new office in Orleans, or call (530) 627-3280 for more information on meeting times and locations.

KFA Forest Program:   Our forest watch program activists and staff monitor and comment on Forest Service and BLM timber sales, grazing allotments, and mining proposals throughout the Klamath region.   We advocate for wildlife habitat preservation, protection of roadless areas, and native forests.  Fire and fuels, herbicide spraying, grazing impacts, and road decommissioning are some of the issues we constantly tackle.

KFA River Program:  Our river program activists and staff monitor and comment on federal and state projects that impact the Klamath River and its tributaries. This list includes dams, irrigation diversions, non-point pollution sources and wastewater discharges. We cover the Upper Klamath Refuges, Upper Klamath Lake, Tule Lake Refuges, Scott River, Shasta River, Salmon River, Klamath River, and Pit & Upper Sacramento River drainages.

KFA Outreach & Education:  We live in the rural communities that we protect, and education and outreach are a natural part of our river and forest programs. We are committed to environmental truth & justice, and the preservation and protection of native peoples' cultural practices. We also work to support forest and river projects that are sustainable, and do not place local communities at risk for short term profits.
